The opening period between the Johnstown Tomahawks and the New Jersey Titans began at a more measured pace. Yet, it was New Jersey who managed to score with just seven minutes left on the clock. Despite the Tomahawks having their opportunities, the Titans held a 1-0 advantage as the first period concluded.

Both teams had ample opportunities during the second period. New Jersey capitalized on one such chance, increasing their lead to 2-0 against the Johnstown Tomahawks. Making a comeback from injury, Justin Gibson made his mark by scoring against the Tomahawks, narrowing the Titans’ lead to 2-1 with assists from Will Lawrence and Lukas Klemm.
