TOMAHAWKS VS TITANS HOME OPENING WEEEKEND PREVIEW

Oct 2, 2025

The Johnstown Tomahawks will kick off their home ice schedule in just TWO DAYS with the home opening weekend set to kick off on Friday evening versus the New Jersey Titans. Puck drop will take place at 7:30PM but as always for the first home game of the season, make sure you’re there early for all player introductions and skate outs.

A LOOK BACK AT LAST SEASON

Well, we are officially back in the full swing of NAHL East Division hockey. After a successful 2025 NAHL Showcase, the Tomahawks are finally back home to play host to their longtime rivals, the New Jersey Titans.

Both teams have been apart of the NAHL for 10+ years now as New Jersey is currently in year 10, while the Tomahawks are in the midst of year 13. On numerous occasions over the last 10 seasons, one of these two teams was on the receiving end of a knockout blow from the other, ultimately ending the other’s playoff run. It’s truly one of the best rivalries league-wide and it’s always a spirited matchup when the games take place, especially in Johnstown with over 2,500+ in attendance.

Last year the Tomahawks and Titans faced off six times just like every division foe, in which the Tomahawks “technically” won the season series with three wins. The Titans also won three games, but one of them came in overtime, meaning the Tomahawks grabbed a point and gathered seven points in the standings to the Titans six. The Tomahawks and the Titans indeed met again in the playoffs and it was a dominant showing from the Tomahawks as they swept the Titans in the best of three series, winning both games on the road.

2025-2026 KEYS TO THE MATCHUP

  • Tomahawks first year Head Coach Adam Houli will look to continue his strong start with his team and new team captain Nick Jarmain as they look to bring the first Robertson Cup to Johnstown.
  • The Titans are led by defensemen Blake Jones who has an impressive nine points through his first seven games (1G, 8A).
  • The Tomahawks have gotten off to a blistering start in 2025 with a 5-1-1 record and are coming off an extremely successful Blaine trip.

The Tomahawks have been playing some of the best hockey in team history through this point of the season, tying the overall record through the first seven games.
