The Johnstown Tomahawks won 4-3 on Saturday night, earning a weekend sweep over the Maine Nordiques. Goaltender Alec Rajalin-Scharp made 32 saves, getting his second win of the weekend between the pipes.

Bad blood was developing between the two teams in tonight’s game with a handful of penalties throughout the period. Maine’s Aidan Coupe tied things up at one late in the first period on the power play with his fourth goal of the season.

Jonny Meiers gave the Nordiques their first lead of the weekend series, scoring 3:57 into the second period. After a quiet period, Drake Albers lit the lamp on the power play, scoring his team-leading 15th goal of the season with 1:22 remaining in the second period, sending the game into the third tied at two.

Filip Wiberg added on another power play goal for the Nordiques seven minutes into the third period to give Maine the lead once again. Defenseman Tyler DesRochers responded for the Tomahawks as he added on two goals in the third period to tie the game and give the Tomahawks the game, winning 4-3 over the Nordiques. The game-winner was DesRochers’ fourth goal of the season.
