Tomahawks Win 8-2, Galante Nets Hat Trick

The Johnstown Tomahawks secured their fifth straight win on Friday against the Northeast Generals, winning 8-2, highlighted by a hat trick from forward Anthony Galante.

The Tomahawks started off Friday night’s contest with a goal from Anthony Galante coming midway through the first period, followed by Bryce Laager netting his second of the season, shorthanded, to give the Tomahawks a 2-0 lead in the first period. Northeast responded a few minutes later as Paul Minnehan got his team on the board, leaving Johnstown with a 2-1 lead to end the first 20.

NAHL Top Prospects select Galante came out in the second period scoring two more goals, netting a hat trick and giving Johnstown a 4-1 lead. Less than two minutes after Galante’s third, James Barbour scored his ninth goal of the season giving the Tomahawks a comfortable 5-1 lead to start the third period.

Tyler DesRochers scored his fifth goal of the season midway through the third period, along with goals from Will Moore and Ryan Johnson, who scored his first in a Tomahawks uniform, to give Johnstown a demanding 8-1 lead in the final frame. Sixten Jennersjo added a second goal for the Generals late in the third as Johnstown would go on to win 8-2.
