Oct 8, 2017

ATTLEBORO, Mass – The Johnstown Tomahawks sent 40 shots on goal but were clipped by the Northeast Generals 4-1 Sunday afternoon at the New England Sports Village.
For the third consecutive contest, the Generals opened the scoring after Joe Mancuso collected a loose puck in the slot and fired it behind a screened Tomahawks goalie Britt League for the 1-0 lead. Matt Demelis and Ryan Bogan assisted on the goal.
Johnstown battled back and tied the contest at 1-1 after Ben Schmidling accepted a pass from Christian Gorscak and beat Northeast goalie David Fessenden. The goal represented Schmidling’s third of the season.
In the second period, the Generals quickly broke the tie 27 seconds into the fame with a Mike Egan goal. Luke Perunovich and Noel Parker picked up the assists.
The Generals added to their lead to make it 3-1 later in the second period. Anthony Quatieri scored his third goal in three games at the 10:55 mark.
Northeast would not surrender a goal in the third period as Johnstown sent plenty of pucks to Fessenden.
Generals forward Justin Jallen set the final score at 4-1 with an empty-net goal late in the third period.
