Weekend Preview: Tomahawks Visit Knights

Jan 26, 2018

Your Johnstown Tomahawks are back on the road after a long home stand on Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27 when they battle the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights at the Revolution Ice Centre in Pittston, PA.  The last time these two teams met was December 8 and 9 when they split the two-game series in Johnstown 2-1 Knights and 2-0 Hawks, respectively.
The Tomahawks head into the weekend coming off a 1-1 series split with the first-place Philadelphia Rebels this past weekend in Johnstown.  Forward Carson Briere comes off a three-point weekend with two goals and an assist, tying his season high for a weekend set and his first three-point weekend since January 5 and 6 against the Kenai River Brown Bears.  Rookie Joey Baez hopes to extend his point streak as he tallied three assists in the past weekend against Philadelphia.
The Knights currently sit in second in the NAHL East Division with 45 points in the standings.  They ride into the weekend with a 5-5 record in their last ten games, including splitting a home-and-home weekend series with the New Jersey Titans this past weekend.  Forwards Matthew Kidney and rookie Jack Olmstead currently lead the team in scoring with 33 points each while Reed Robinson is right behind them with 29 points. Olmstead aims to extend his point streak to four games as he has three goals and an assist in his last three games.
