Weekend Preview: Tomahawks vs. Rebels

Mar 24, 2022

This weekend, the Tomahawks are headed back up to Jamestown for two more games against the Rebels as the push for the playoffs continues.

With the New Jersey Titans clinching their playoff spot and the East Division title on Wednesday with a 4-1 win against the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks, every game is a must-win for the Tomahawks to finish out the season. With only five points separating Jamestown in fifth place and Johnstown in second, all four points this weekend would make a big difference for the Tomahawks as the final weeks of the season are approaching.

The Tomahawks look to continue their winning ways after dominating the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks this past weekend, scoring a total of 13 goals, including hat tricks from both Zachary Murray and Jake Black, to secure the second place spot in the East Division with 64 points.

Jamestown hasn’t seen game action since March 16, when they last faced off against Johnstown, earning a 4-1 win on home ice. The Rebels are currently riding a three-game winning streak with their two prior wins coming against the Maryland Black Bears at Piney Orchard in Odenton, Maryland.

Despite their 12-10-2-0 record on the road this season, the Tomahawks are leading the division and are one of the top teams in the league on the penalty kill, with a PK rate of 86.2% overall and an 83.3% rate on the road.

The two game weekend series kicks off tomorrow, Friday March 25 at 7:05 PM at Northwest Arena. The game will be broadcasted live on HockeyTV.
