Jul 18, 2023

Johnstown Tomahawks forward Will Moore has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Rochester Institute of Technology, located in Rochester, New York.

“I couldn’t be happier for Will on his commitment to RIT,” said Johnstown Tomahawks Head Coach Mike Letizia. “He emerged as an offensive catalyst for us last season after arriving in Johnstown, especially in the second half where his production and impact skyrocketed.  His speed and playmaking are always a threat when he touches the ice. Additionally, Will was so committed to putting in the extra, necessary work for success.  We are so proud to add Will to our list of Tomahawk NCAA Division 1 commits!”

After joining the Tomahawks in October of the 2022-2023 season, the Westfield, Indiana native dressed for 49 games in Johnstown. During his rookie season, Moore accounted for 12 goals, 13 assists, and 25 points. Moore was also awarded the Johnstown Tomahawks Most Improved Player award for the 22-23 season.

“I am excited to announce my commitment to RIT, I’m very grateful for the opportunity,” said Will Moore. “This past year in Johnstown was very special to me. The relationships I made with my teammates, billet families, and the community were extremely valuable to my hockey career. I would also like to thank Coach Mike and the rest of the Johnstown Tomahawks organization!”

Prior to Johnstown, Moore spent two successful seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite organization accounting for 41 goals, 42 assists, and 83 points in 116 games.  The ‘04 Center will join the Atlantic Hockey Conference while at RIT, a division home to many Tomahawks Alumni.
