The North American Hockey League has named Joe Drabin the Easton North Star of the Week for the week of September 23rd. Drabin picked up six points (1-5-6) and had a +6 during the Tomahawks NAHL Showcase games in Blaine, MN . He had two assists in showcase opener against Amarillo and one each against Topeka and Aberdeen. In the showcase finale, he tallied a goal and assist in the 3-1 victory over Bismarck. “Joe plays like a beast.  He is strong in the corners and really brings a physical presence to the team,” said Tomahawks head coach Jason Spence. “It pays off for him because he works hard and his determination leads to some scoring opportunities.”

Fellow forward Brandon Reinholz was named an honorable mention for the award. Reinholz scored two goals and added an assist in the 6-5 overtime loss against Topeka, including the first of three straight Tomahawks goals that tied the game in the third period. He also provided a goal on Friday and an assist on Shane Cuckovich’s shorthanded goal in the win on Saturday.

The Tomahawks take on the Soo Eagles Sept. 27-29, before returning home to battle Springfield Jr. Blues Oct. 5 & 6.
