Robbins Makes Commitment To Brown

Sep 25, 2015

JOHNSTOWN, Penn. – The Johnstown Tomahawks are proud to announce that forward Zac Robbins has committed to Brown University. Robbins was a member of the Tomahawks last season and is currently playing for Cedar Rapids of the United States Hockey League.

“We are very proud of Zac for his accomplishment. He overcame an early season injury to be one of our best players in the second half last season,” said Tomahawks head coach Mike Letizia.

A native of Glenview, Ill., Robbins scored 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists) in 43 games for the Tomahawks last season. Robbins also received the Most Improved Player of the Year Award at the end of the season.

“We definitely miss him in Johnstown, but we couldn’t be happier to see him having success in Cedar Rapids and now moving forward into Brown,” said Letizia.

The Tomahawks are currently participating in the 2015 North American Hockey League Showcase in Blaine, Minn. They take on Coulee Region Friday night at 8 p.m. and Lone Star Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

Johnstown opens its 2015-16 home schedule Oct. 16 and 17 against New Jersey, with a special appearance by Hockey Hall of Famer and National Hockey League legend Bobby Hull scheduled for the Oct. 16 game.
