A Look Back: Roman Kraemer

Apr 5, 2018

Next up on our end of the season series is forward Roman Kraemer, who is in his second year with the team.

The Pittsburgh, PA native had a short stint with Johnstown last year, totaling four points (one goal and three assists) in six games.

Now with almost a full season under his belt, Roman has found his offensive game this year. He is currently the team’s leading goal-scorer with 19 and is third on the team in points with 36 (19 goals and 17 assists) in 57 games.

With the game constantly changing, he attributes his work ethic to how well he has produced offensively this year.

“Since the game is always getting harder, I had to work even harder to get where I am,” he said. “Guys are always getting bigger and faster, so I had to do the same to make sure I could keep up. I tried to always use my speed to my advantage and also hit guys whenever I could! I’m pretty happy with what I’ve been able to do this year.”

It also helps that his hometown of Pittsburgh isn’t too far from Johnstown!

“It definitely makes things easier. I only live about an hour and a half away, so there are times where I can go home for a day on the weekends and see my family.”

Looking back on this season, there have been plenty of good times.

“My favorite memory so far has been the water balloon fight at the billet house,” he said. “It was a nice way to get settled in and relaxed with the guys and prepare for the season.”
