    Tonight the Tomahawks and Wild meet for the final time in Wenatchee this season. The Tomahawks look to earn the weekend split while pulling themselves closer to first-place Port Huron. They are currently tied with Michigan for second place, six points behind the Fighting Falcons and four points ahead of fourth place Springfield.

 

Last Night

    Last night, Wenatchee’s Jakob Ahlgren scored a pair of  second period goals to give the Wild a 2-1 win at the Town Toyota Center.

    The Tomahawks got on the board first, as Shane Bednard received a pass from Brandon Reinholz and fired it past Wild goaltender Gustaf Johansson for a power-play goal at 16:57 of the first period. Bednard now has three point (2G-1A) against Wenatchee this season. 

    Wenatchee’s Jakob Ahlgren tied the game 22 seconds into the second period, scoring on a shot that slipped between Jake Moore and the left post. Ahlgren picked up his second goal of the game, scoring from the left side of Moore at 7:07.

    Johansson earned the win, stopping 15 of 16 shots. Moore allowed 2 goals on 33 shots in the loss. The Tomahawks went 1-for-6 on the power play, while the Wild went 1-for-4.

    The Tomahawks travel to Port Huron next Friday & Saturday to take on the first-place Fighting Falcons at McMorran Arena.
