Tomahawks Fall to Rebels on Thanksgiving Eve

Nov 24, 2021

The Johnstown Tomahawks drop a Thanksgiving Eve matchup against the Jamestown Rebels in New York, falling 4-2. Wednesday night’s contest was the first game between these two teams since February 15 of 2020, due to the gap-season the Rebels took last year.

The Tomahawks got on the board early in the game with Sean Ramsay netting his third goal of the season 3:16 into the game on Wednesday night. Johnny Ulicny extended the lead to two for the Tomahawks, but the Rebels responded with a goal of their own just 1:07 later to keep it a one-goal game in the opening period.

The Rebels then scored an early goal of their own in the 2nd period, with Carter Casper tying the game at 2. After both teams got a shot on the power play, neither side could convert and get the go-ahead goal, sending the game to the 3rd period knotted at 2.

Kolby Amici gives Jamestown the go ahead goal in the 3rd period, giving them their first lead of the night with 14:08 to go in regulation. With only one minute to go in regulation, Jamestown scores on an empty-net goal as the Tomahawks pulled netminder Sam Evola for the extra-attacker, ending the game with a 4-2 win for the Rebels.

The two teams shift gears beginning Friday, November 26 as the series heads to 1ST SUMMIT ARENA for game two beginning at 7:30 PM. Due to being short-staffed in the office, we recommend waiting and buying tickets at the door the day of the game. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation with us at this time.
