Tomahawks Tender Defenseman Dylan Shane

Nov 19, 2021

The Tomahawks have tendered another player out of Mount St, Charles U18, defenseman Dylan Shane.

“We are extremely excited to announce the tendering of Dylan Shane for next season,” said Tomahawks head coach Mike Letizia. “In our eyes he is an elite two-way defenseman that can shut the opposition down with his skills and his mind, but add to the offense with his vision, puck movement, and great hockey IQ. We will advance on a heavy chunk of our defense at the end of this season, so Dylan has the ability to have an impact immediately and we look for him to do so. He recently secured a commitment to Niagara University which is a testament to his ability and work ethic.”

The Kutztown, Pennsylvania native is the third player the Tomahawks have tendered under coach Matt Plante at Mount St. Charles U18 in Rhode Island. Born in 2004, the 5’11 defenseman is committed to Niagara University, where he will play alongside Tomahawks alumni Christian Gorscak and Jay Ahearn.”

“He is another player from coach Matt Plante and Mount St. Charles so there is familiarity but also an understanding of the preparation Planter puts into these guys to prepare them for the next level.  If you look at past players that came from a Matt Plante coached team: Andrew Quetell, Hunter Toale, Anthony Mastromonica, and Will Margel. They were all incredible players for us. This year we have Stephen Kyrkostas and Tommy Heaney whom both have been great contributors in their first seasons in Johnstown. They are winners and we value that. We can’t wait to see Dylan continue his great season at Mount St. Charles, while anxiously awaiting his arrival in Johnstown for next season.”
